Alright Junior has been on my radar since I started, so seeing their new release launch I decided to give it a listen. This album gives the the feeling Fuel did in the 90’s, specifically sunburn. A few catchy hooks, songs about the same tempo, the general feels in each tune. This disc was difficult for me to get through, I get lost in the sound of the songs, in that I can’t tell when they change. Be that as it may, these guys are movers and shakers in Philly garnering a lot of positive press. So in a objective view in this disc, it’s heavy. The guitars are thick, the kick is muffled and deep and the tracks keep pouring out the anger and angst delivered through the gritty vocals. I may have my criticisms, and none of the tracks particularly stick out to me, but seeing how much these guys are doing and what they are doing I very much appreciate and respect them as a band. I really think if you dig alternative rock, you will like these guys.
