Canyon may not be from around here, but around here adopted her with a vigor. Basically, she’s a breath of fresh air to a folk infested area. She has a mix of indie, rock and a touch of 90’s in there. (It’s ok, it’s the good part of the 90’s). This album “Half” is her latest and first full length release; and might I say, it sounds wonderful. I particularly am digging the guitar work and tones therein. I’m glad to see her first release sounds this big and full, albeit a little too reverbed out at times. Tracks “One Way Road,” “Free,” and “Cold Feet” are the ones that stand out to me; “Cold Feet” in particular strikes me with this Beatles-esq cello riff. I would certainly check this album out, and buy it; I for one know she worked her ass off to make this disc and it’s worth it.
