Soda Christ

Soda Christ

Genre: Rock-n'-Roll
Label:
Released: 2014

Honestly I was in the middle of writing another album review and the song “Belia” by ROM from the Soda Christ release came on and I had to write about it. It hit me in the Wire, Mission of Burma, and Gang of Four soft spot I have. This type of minimal rock sound is amazing these days, to me at least. The tracks “Belia” and “Gun” are just fun little numbers with driving fuzz and a old punk vibe. The drums on “Gun” are fun and and driving with a surf feel at times. Really the tone of Soda Christ, with the thick drums, fuzzy guitars and articulate bass lines, is apparent from the beginning and sticks with it all the way through. D.C. has been cranking out some wonderful music as of late, and it seems that area in general is churning out some wonderful sounds so keep your ear to the ground there.

I highly recommend you check out Soda Christ from ROM. You can find it on Bandcamp.
